Arrival and First Impressions
Upon arriving at the Emirates Palace, built in 2005 at a staggering cost of around $3 billion and spanning over 1 million square meters, we were greeted with refreshing iced tea and dates – a sweet start to our stay. Thanks to our Amex Platinum, we scored an upgrade to a spacious 60m² Deluxe Room with garden views, complete with tasty amenities.
Day 1: Poolside Relaxation and Evening Stroll
We headed to the adults-only pool in the afternoon, where attentive staff delivered towels, sunscreen, and chilled water right to our loungers – ultimate pampering! As evening fell, we wandered to the nearby Marina Mall for a light dinner and some local exploration, soaking in the vibrant surroundings.
Day 2: Breakfast Bliss, Palace Visit, and Oriental Dinner
After a restful night, we savored the exceptional breakfast: an à la carte selection paired with a global buffet that catered to every craving. Post-pool lounging, we visited the impressive Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi’s Presidential Palace, opened to the public in 2019 and featuring intricate Arabian architecture with white marble, grand domes, and cultural exhibits promoting UAE heritage. Dinner at Shurfa Bay along the Corniche Promenade was divine – fresh salad, hummus with meat, and chicken kebab – followed by a leisurely waterfront walk.

The staff’s genuine friendliness made us feel truly welcome, never a burden. This hotel, one of the world’s most luxurious, left us rejuvenated.
